iPhone-ing in Dubai, it works!
Alas… a working iPhone in Dubai! Confirmed—all the iPhone functions play nicely with Etisalat’s GSM network (with the exception of visual voicemail, of course). This means if you actually get your hands on an unlocked iPhone in Dubai, you can rest assured the “phone” part will work like a charm.

Well the iPhone isn’t officially launched in Dubai, and probably will not be launched for atleast another 6 months or so. There still are, however, a few ways of getting an unlocked iPhone in Dubai.
1) You can check out some local classified or auction sites like dubizzle or souk.
2) You can buy one from a store that is selling them online (see “Apple iPhone Ships in 24 Hours”).
3) If you have friends/family in the US, you can have them buy one unlocked on eBay.
